Esska & The Raven
A personal design project where I wanted to reflect on my experiences living in a northern climate and being surrounded by Alaskan culture. Project development took about 7 weeks. Half of that time focused on the designs, compositions, color, and light. The other half was painting and rendering the main keyframes.
Humanity barely survives on the surface of the earth in a desolate ice age. A group of young explorers venture to structures from times before that have been frozen in the ice.
The sole survivor of the young explorers reaches the lowest floors of the frozen structures. Ancient artifacts from within the earth are brought up by ice flow, showing evidence of a precursor civilization. One of them is a cave preserved by crystals and a curious artifact.
Harnessing the powers from the aurora, the hero vanquishes the blizzards and ice.
